S. J. Kessler & Sons was a powerhouse architectural firm during the 1950s. It was founded by Sam. J. Kessler in the early 20th century and eventually his son, Melvin, and grandson, Stuart, joined the company. The company focused on large apartment complexes that had well over 1,000 units. These include the Lincoln Towers on the Upper West side and Washington Square Village in Greenwich Village.
