Built in 1963, the Hamilton is a 21-story luxury cooperative located in a mixed-use, residential area. It offers the top-of-the-line amenities you would expect from such a building, such as a 24-hour concierge, landscaped roof deck, and a garage. The Hamilton is located near Grand Central Station, the United Nations, and other New York landmarks.
The New York Times described Philip Birnbaum, who designed 300 New York buildings and hotels in Miami, as an “almost anonymous architectural hand.” The city-born, Columbia-graduated Birnbaum was known for his space-maximizing approach to residential buildings, as well as his collaboration with the Trump family. When Birnbaum died in 1996, Trump was one of many to memorialize his work: “They all made money. And some were in fact, very good.”
